International Art Fair ArtVilnius’17: Applications now open 0

The organisers of International Contemporary Art Fair ArtVilnius’17 invites galleries to start making reservations for art market event taking place on 8-11 June, 2017. Applications are accepted by 5 February.

ArtVilnius’17 has well established itself in the local and global art markets, becoming one of the must-visit places for art lovers. The Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre Litexpo will host dozens of galleries displaying hundreds of art works from all over the world.  The fair’s 2016 edition was proud to meet a total of 21 thousand visitors; about 200 works of art were sold for EUR 260 thousand. Among the exhibitors, there were 60 galleries from 12 countries of the world; the project hall presented outstanding collections of works by world’s famous contemporary artists; the event was given broad coverage in the local and foreign media.

Mrs. Diana Stomienė, directress of the art fair, noted that ArtVilnius’17 is expected to expand even more in terms of visitors and the number of sold artworks, as the main theme will be the art collecting and collectors. Not only the special fair‘s programme will be dedicated to the art of collecting, but also conferences, with the participation of Lithuanian and foreigners art market professionals will be organised.

ArtVilnius’17 will follow the tradition of selecting the best galleries and artists, the best young artist (under 35) will be awarded by Fair's maecenas - Law Firm COBALT.  The exclusive partner of the Fair, Lewben Group and its Lewben Art Foundation will display an impressive collection of foreign artists. As usual, the exhibition of large-size sculptures and installations Path will display works by Lithuanian and foreign artists.  ArtVilnius’17 will be traditionally hosted by the Exhibition and Congress Centre Litexpo, where the architectural project covering 12,000 sq. metres will be conducted by Rokas Kilčiauskas (Processoffice), cooperating with the fair for several years.
