The team of Arterritory.com is delighted to make an announcement of two events that will take place on February 15, 2013, the day when Purvītis Prize is will be presented for the third time.
Firstly, Arterritory.com, with the support of SIA Alfor, will be launching three extensive publications in Latvian, English and Russian languages – “2007–2012. Latvian Contemporary Art. Purvītis Prize.” The publication will be a documentation of Latvian art development over the period of six years. It will encompass 87 artists, accentuated by the Purvītis Prize panel of experts as important artistic phenomenon in Latvian contemporary art.
An Outline of the Book
Secondly, on February 15 at 11.00 at the Art Museum Riga Bourse Arterritory.com, in cooperation with the organizing committee of Purvītis Prize, will hold an international forum. It will be a unique opportunity to learn the views of well-regarded personalities in the fields of art and culture, who will discuss the subject of “The Progression of Contemporary Art Process. The New Rules of the Game”. What is the role of art critics, gallerists, curators, culture institutions and marketing specialists in the process of contemporary art evolution and progress? The answer to this question will be revealed at the forum.
