On the evening of August 16, two solo shows were opened concurrently at the kim? Contemporary Art Centre in Riga – those of the prominent artists Katrīna Neiburga and Kristīne Kursiša. Both shows will be on view through September 23.
According to the organizers of the shows, Kristīne Kursiša's latest exhibition will feature photography: observations that have been collected over several years – images found both intentionally and inadvertently through Google – which have been been construed into novel photographs. Katrīna Neiburga (winner of the Purvītis Prize and a candidate for the Ars Fennica Award), on the other hand, will turn the viewers' attention to a beauty ritual that has been passed down through generations.
