Fourth Edition of “Another Travel Guide Riga” Has Just Been Published
The fourth revised and expanded edition of the “Another Travel Guide Riga”guidebook has just been released. The small blue book, so familiar to many, has not lost a bit its charm over the years and is still helping tourists and locals alike see the different faces of Riga and get in touch with the pulse of its life.
It is nothing like a classic guide that lists all the well-polished tourist landmarks of the city. “Another Travel Guide Riga” is like a local friend who is keen to share his secrets. It is exactly for this reason that the updated edition features a selection of so-called ‘insider routes’ which will help you discover the favourite Riga images and paths of artists Kristāns Brekte and Krišs Salmanis, architects Austris Mailītis and Zigmārs Jauja and the Rector of the University of Latvia Mārcis Auziņš.
One look into the blue guide book is enough for you to realise that in summer Riga can be explored during a boat trip. And those who have had enough of cobblestones and concrete can head for the Latvian countryside where accommodation in ancient manor houses is available.
Importantly, the team behind the guidebook has made staying well-informed about the latest developments in the city one of its priorities, which is a guarantee of the quality of the information provided to the readers. The concept of the “Another Travel Guide Riga” guidebook was conceived by Una Meistere, Daiga Rudzāte and Kirils Kirasirovs.
First published in 2009, the English version of “Another Travel Guide Riga” saw its fourth revised and expanded edition published this month. The guidebook is also available in Russian and German; last year also brought a Japanese translation published in Japan.
