Why images of war, suffering and pain are so often on the covers of newspapers and magazines?
The answer to our question is given by Swedish photographer Paul Hansen, the winner of World Press Photo competition and the staff photographer for the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter. His visual storytelling has awarded him “Photographer of the Year” in Sweden seven times.
All World Press Photo prize-winning photographs are assembled into an exhibition that travels to 45 countries over the course of a year. Until June 2 the exhibition is on view at the Riga St. Peter's church.
