“As I have painted an altar piece here, I have experienced purely divine rays. Afternoon light is the most beautiful,” says Latvian artist Helēna Heinrihsone. Arterritory.com visited the artist’s studio, where she has just finished working on her new watercolours for the solo exhibition “Heat”, which is held at art gallery “Māksla XO” from June 20 through July 16, 2013. The exhibition welcomes a new motive in Heinrihsone’s art – whydahs. “I think the real sculpture and the real painting – the classical methods – is inextinguishable.
