Photo Reportage and Awards of ARTVILNIUS’13

On June 26 LITEXPO Exhibition and Congress Centre in Vilnius filled with art enthusiasts looking forward to grasp the newest edition of the ARTVILNIUS’13
 art fair.

During the opening ceremony the curatorial board of ARTVILNIUS’13 also awarded the greatest artists and galleries at the fair. This year the nomination for the best Lithuanian gallery went to Vilnius Graphic Art Centre (VGAC), but Tifāna Art Gallery from Riga received an award as the best foreign gallery. The title of best artist, however, went to Raimondas Gailiūnas from Lithuania and Mikola Bilous from Ukraine, but Zaida Gonzalez and Jonas Aničas were named as the best young artists of ARTVILNIUS’13. 

This year ARTVILNIUS, the first international art fair in the Baltic countries, is hosting 50 galleries from 11 countries: 36 Lithuanian galleries and 14 foreign galleries from Denmark, Italy, Great Britain, France, Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Byelorussia and Portugal. Latvia, however, is represented by three art spaces – Exhibition Hall of Latvian Academy of Arts, Galerija 21 and Tifāna Art Gallery

This is the largest art fair dedicated to contemporary arts in the Baltic States, where the visitors can keep their fingers on the pulse of contemporary arts and see what the art galleries have been keeping themselves busy with.
