"Galerija 21" will participate in art fair in Shanghai
Riga's “Galerija 21” has been invited to take part in Shanghai's prestigious contemporary art fair SH Contemporary 11, which will take place September 8–10 of this year. “Galerija 21” has already previously caught the attention of admirers of Asian contemporary art, and has received other offers of collaboration as well. This time, representing new Baltic artists, the gallery will exhibit the work of two contrasting artists – Anita Arbidāne and Anda Lāce.
SH Contemporary 11 is one of the most prestigious art fairs in Asia. It was formed in 2007 and has been a fitting answer to the increasing inclination of the art market towards Asian contemporary art, as well as to the increase in wealth and purchasing power of the Asian middle-class. SH Contemporary 11's main domain will be the Shanghai Exhibition Center, but various associated events and exhibits will be held in the city. A new feature this year will be a separate zone in the fair designated expressly for photography.
